Our Founder Erin

California High was born from sunshine, saltwater, and a tiny bit of chaos. Founder Erin Castle was raised on California’s Central Coast before moving to Los Angeles in 2006 to study Fashion Design at Otis College of Art and Design. After graduating with her BFA in 2009, she spent years being a total fashion-industry chameleon — bouncing between every kind of job imaginable and learning every corner of the business along the way.

Then the pandemic hit, life slowed down, and Erin started sewing bikinis at home between beach days with her dogs. What started as a creative escape quickly turned into California High: a swimwear brand inspired by hot-girl beach trips, surfer glam, tiny bikinis, tan lines, and feeling your absolute hottest.

Now, in 2026, California High is Erin’s entire heart. Her dream is simple: bring back the beach bimbo, and make women feel sexy, confident, happy — one bikini at a time.

Made in Los Angeles

Every California High bikini is proudly designed and ethically produced in Los Angeles by a woman-owned, small-run production studio.

From pattern making and grading to fabric sourcing, cutting, sewing, trims, and finishing, nearly every step of our production happens right here in Los Angeles. By keeping our manufacturing local, we're able to support independent makers, skilled craftspeople, and other small businesses that make our city such a creative place.

When you shop California High, you're choosing thoughtfully made swimwear—not mass production. Our manufacturing partners pay fair wages, provide safe working conditions, and take pride in the craftsmanship behind every piece.

Your purchase doesn't just buy a bikini—it supports real people, strengthens the local economy, and helps keep independent manufacturing alive in Los Angeles.

Thank you for choosing to shop small. It truly makes a difference.
